Both are Maintenance Free battery. With the production technology, quality of raw materials and lead, and design of battery components, it yields a different type of Maintenance Free. The SMF (Sealed Maintenance Free) is of higher performance capability than the MF, hence once the production processes are completed, the SMF requires no ports for distilled water filling. It can be briefly concluded that:
MF battery comes with ports and opening/closing caps for distilled water filling
SMF battery is without ports and caps, and requires no distilled water filling throughout the life of usage.

In Thailand’s humid and hot weather, the battery life is 2 years+, based on the condition of ordinary usage, electrical system and condition of wirings and gadgets are not damaged, or short-circuited. The actual life depends on the load of the usage, temperature, and traffic condition as determinants.

Battery plate composes of 2 major components i.e. the frame, and the plate body. Therefore, the thicker the plate, it endures better against the corrosion through the usage. The thicker frame enhances the better holding of the plate body, including helps better flow of electrical current, hence, it establishes better strength of the current and prolongs the usage life.

It is the power of the battery in engine ignition, the higher the CCA value, the higher the power in engine ignition.

This is the only 100% genuine MF type (Maintenance Free) in Thailand. It is a Dry Charge type with plate frame made of calcium for both positive and negative. The plate is pre-charged from the factory. Prior to first use, fill the diluted sulfuric acid (electrolyte liquid) as per instruction in the manual. Then you would get a fresh battery ready for use.
The plate frame of Activo MF is 30% thicker than other MF batteries and hence increases the endurance, battery power and ease of engine ignition. It renders a longer life and consumes minimal distilled water and, in normal usage, requires no filling throughout the usage life.***
